Its holidays again and we got a new puppy called Jasper. Good times!!!

School is doing High School Musical for the annual drama production this year. I've spent ages on the poster and programme not to mention the set painting / creation but tonight its the opening so I hope it turns out well. We're apparently the only school in Australia attempting it so break a leg to all the students performing!!!!


I went to a kite making PD last night so now I'm all inspired to create some kite magic or at least expect the symbol to start turning up in my work. They are such beautiful contraptions.

I have been re-inspired lately and have decided to explore the theme of the journey further in my work. I have being investigating the use of the labyrinth symbol superimposed over portraits as a way of implying the journey, as it has a start point and end point, and although you near the end point early in the journey you must follow the path away from the end goal in order to finally reach it. I like the metaphor.

I have also been considering the location of my figures quite alot recently. Up until this point my figures have been floating in a void / space / field of colour. This has been because the location is unimportant to the meaning behind the works. However, with my pursuit of the journey i am now finding myself with an urge to reintroduce the figures immediate surroundings as they would hopefully establish where the figure is in their journey.
